Educational Ministries
St. Mary’s offers numerous opportunities for education. We host two weekly Bible studies, one of Tuesday evening at 6 PM and one on Saturday morning at 10 AM. For those who are interested in reading Scripture in its original language, we offer a class in New Testament Greek on Tuesdays at 5 PM. For catechumens, inquirers, those who want to learn more about their faith, and those who are curious about Orthodoxy, we have an Introduction to Orthodoxy class on Saturdays after Vespers, at 5:45 PM. On the second Friday of the month at 6 PM, we have a book club, reading and discussing a book on Orthodox theology. One Sunday a month we have Foundations of the Faith, where we examine how we live as Orthodox Christians and why. For more information about any of our educational programs, please contact Fr. Nick at stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com.
Choir

1 Chronicles 16:23 says: “sing to the Lord all the earth.” The choir helps to fulfill this directive, by leading the congregation in chanting the responses and the hymns of the divine services. If you would like to join the choir, please contact Fr. Nick at www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com">www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com.
Ladies Guild

The Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s engages in numerous projects in the parish and in the community at large. The Ladies run a rummage sale several times a year, as well as other fundraisers such as a Christmas cookie sale. With their funds they support the parish as well as local charities. They also gather clothing, toiletries, and food, to donate to local food pantries and shelters. They especially hope to support the newly opened St. Olga’s closet. To find out more about the Ladies Guild, and how to participate, please contact Fr. Nick at www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com">www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com.
Antiochian Men
The Antiochian Men’s group offers the men of the parish the opportunity to serve the parish, to gather for fellowship, and to grow in their faith together. For more information about the Antiochian Men, and to participate in the program, please contact Fr. Nick at www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com">www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com.
Fellowship
A parish is like a family, and the fellowship organizes the social life of the parish. It offers opportunities to grow together in faith. One of the ways the fellowship does this is by hosting monthly movie nights for parishioners of all ages. To find out more about the Fellowship, please contact Fr. Nick at www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com">www.stmarywilkesbarre@gmail.com.
