Youth Programs
Church School
​
Church School begins in September and runs through mid-May. Visitors and friends are very welcome to join the children of the parish. In addition to the weekly Church School lessons following Communion, the Church School hosts retreats for the children during the year.
Youth Group
On the second Sunday of the month, children of all ages are invited to come to youth group down in the hall after Divine Liturgy. The youth group promises fun, faith, and fellowship for our children so that they can grow in their relationship with God and one another.
Orthodox Story Time
On the Third Sunday of the month, after Divine Liturgy, the youngest children of the parish gather in the kids corner and volunteers read some Orthodox children’s books. Rounded out with some coloring pages and a snack, it is the perfect time for fellowship and fun.
Altar Servers
Assisting in the Divine Services is a great honor. We have a number of young men who assist, under the supervision of our subdeacons.
Young Adult Fellowship
The young adults of St. Mary’s gather on the fourth Sunday of the month at 4 PM for fellowship, fun, food, and discussion. They work together on outreach projects with the young adults of the other Orthodox Churches in town to grow in their faith and to be a light of Orthodoxy in Wilkes-Barre.
